Two hours of lake bliss, cold drinks, and one very chill capybara roaming the deck. Lake Coeur d'Alene never looked โ or felt โ this good.
Chompers roams the deck freely the whole ride. Pets encouraged. Capybaras are basically nature's emotional support animals.
Lake Coeur d'Alene is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. See it from the water, the way it was meant to be seen.
Local craft beer, Pacific Northwest wine, and non-alcoholic options. Sip and float. That's the whole vibe.
We keep groups small so everyone gets quality deck time with Chompers and the best views on the boat.
We run four 2-hour cruises daily, five days a week (WedโSun). Pick your vibe โ morning mist or golden hour glow.
Peaceful waters, misty mountain views, and Chompers at his most zen. Coffee and tea available.

Chompers is our resident capybara and the undisputed captain of this vessel. He wanders the deck at his own pace, stops by every seat, and basically treats the whole boat like his personal meet-and-greet. Think of him as the world's most relaxed ambassador.
Capybaras are the world's largest rodent and are known for being incredibly gentle, social, and calm. They're low-allergen, get along with literally every animal on earth, and Chompers is no exception. He will walk up to you, stare at you lovingly, and wait to be petted.
All drinks are included with your tour ticket. We stock local and regional favorites โ nothing generic, everything good.
Canned, ice-cold, out of the cooler.
Canned or bottled pour. Lake vibes only.
Always available, always free.
๐ Watermelon slices always on deck. We tell ourselves it's for the guests.
Capy Barge is currently in the works โ Chompers is in training, the coolers are being sourced, and we're figuring out the paperwork. This site is a sneak peek.
Want to know when we launch? Drop your email and we'll holler.
Yes! We stop at a couple spots on the lake where guests can hop in for a swim. Life jackets are required if you're in the water and are provided onboard. Chompers will watch from the deck and judge you (lovingly).
Absolutely. Chompers is trained, socialized, and genuinely loves humans. He has full run of the deck but is supervised at all times by our crew. He's been around hundreds of guests without incident โ his vibe is strictly peaceful.
Yes! Kids 12 and under ride free with a paying adult. Kids must wear a life jacket on deck (provided). We love having families aboard โ Chompers especially loves the littles.
Probably, yes. Chompers is a 100+ lb animal living his best life and he does not operate on a schedule. Our crew cleans it up immediately and we keep the deck tidy. We mention this upfront because we respect you and also because you deserve to know. It won't ruin your day. People love him anyway.
Everyone gets one drink included with their ticket โ your choice of beer, wine, hard seltzer, or non-alcoholic. After that, additional drinks are available to purchase onboard. Non-alcoholic drinks (water, soda, lemonade) are always free. We ask that you drink responsibly; we reserve the right to cut anyone off. (Yes, including Chompers.)
We're not open yet! Capy Barge is currently in the planning and permitting phase. Drop your email in the "notify me" section above and we'll let you know the moment tickets go live.
All tours depart from the McEuen Park boat dock in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Parking is available nearby in the McEuen Park lot. Arrive 15 minutes early so we can get everyone settled before we cast off.
We operate in light rain (the boat has a canopy). If we need to cancel due to weather or unsafe conditions, you'll receive a full refund or free rescheduling โ your choice. We'll notify you at least 2 hours in advance via email and text.
Capybaras have hair rather than fur, which tends to be lower-allergen for most people. That said, if you have severe animal allergies, we'd recommend checking with your doctor first. Note it in your booking and we'll seat you upwind of Chompers.
Heck yes. Bachelorette parties, birthdays, corporate retreats โ we do it all. Email us at hello@capybarge.com for private charter pricing and availability.
